Building Champions Gymnastics Camp
Past, Present and Future
Gymnet Sports started holding gymnastics camps in the early ’80s. Through the 15yrs we held camp we transferred our home into sleeping quarters for a few hundred girls, over six weeks each summer. Those times were a blast. We still have countless former camp alumni each year express to us how much fun it was, and how it impacted their lives. In 2009 we re-introduced camp, in commuter form this time to try and capture that feeling again. 2010 brought double the enrollment and 2011 looks to be a hit as well. Our future goals include moving the camp from commuter based format to a live-in format where we can really work on the psychological aspect of sports with fabulous evening teamwork activities and just all-out fun for the week. What to Expect
Building Champions Gymnastics Camp is a camp based on two parts. The first and obvious part will require 2/3 of our time and is focused on the skills each gymnast needs to progress to the next level or be more successful at her current level. We will work hard and have fun learning PERTINENT skills that will make a difference in our young athletes career. Then 1/3 of the camp will be class room sessions, and gym sessions, designed to challenge them to aspire to be more than what they currently are. We will work on their desire, their hard work ethic, their goal setting, their dreams, their moods, understanding of working with the adults in their lives and their desire for more. A challenge? Absolutely. That is why we are excited about this new concept in our camps.Coaches and Parents
Our camp is going to improve the skills your athletes and children need for this next season AND send you a more motivated and focused athlete when the camp is finished. Each coach will be asked to fill out a form for each gymnast on what skills you want them working on and any other “areas of need” the girls have. Our Goal
The goal of this camp is to learn new skills AND get the girls to be more aggressive, more focused and more driven to get things done. In the gym, at home and in life. This is not your ordinary gymnastics camp.Give your athlete a special experience!
