Parenting An Athlete Newsletter

The purpose for these newsletters is to make things easier for you as a parent. Once every 2 weeks you will get the newsletter that will hopefully “whisper in your ear” some thoughts and ideas that will help you with some of the issues you face as a parent of a child and a parent of an athlete. You may not agree with every single one of my thoughts and ideas. That is natural, but hopefully you will agree with a lot of them and enjoy my passion for what we are doing in raising these children and also gain some ideas and techniques that will help. I am eager to talk to you about the awesomely difficult, but occasionally rewarding job you have as parents. (that was a joke!) Our ultimate goal as parents is to prepare our children to attack life with the necessary tools to succeed and manage ON THEIR OWN! (without us)……Tom B

Everyone Plays A Role

Yes this is a “Parenting An Athlete” Newsletter but the CHILDREN are part of all of this too! They have responsibilities. They have a role. They have to learn. They are not a guest who is to be catered to all of the time. These newsletters are designed to educate and motivate them as much as the parents.

2 Parts To The Parenting An Athlete Newsletter

#1 (FREE) Parenting An Athlete Newsletter– For Parents……request this free publication below by sending an email request with “please send me the FREE Parenting An Athlete Newsletter” in the subject line.

#2 (Subscription) Parenting An Athlete Newsletter – For Young Athletes…..I am excited as I have now divided the newsletter for the athletes into 2 sections. One for 11 year olds and under and one for 12+. These 2 groups of children, athletes, are very different and separating them will give me a chance to deal with different topics, talk to them differently and motivate them in slightly different ways.

To The Parents

At the bottom of the kids newsletters each issue I will leave a place for you to make a comment about your child regarding their behavior/effort the previous week. I want your kids/athletes to look forward in each issue to your comment about them. Kind of like an overall “report card” about their previous week. DO NOT make this comment fake.. My sample suggestion: “It was a pretty good week except for the problem we had on Thursday.” (That opens up a possible conversation about a time when the child was difficult.) Please don’t “sugarcoat things” with these comments.
